If you’re disabled or have a long-term illness, you won’t be charged VAT on products designed or adapted for your own personal use. You will need to fill in a form to qualify, please ask for one when you place your order.
WHERE CAN I BE MEASURED FOR MY FOOTWEAR
You will need to visit a suitably qualified healthcare professional who will measure your feet and discuss your footwear options with you and to provide you with the necessary prescription so we may then manufacture your footwear to your individual specifications. Please refer to our 'Clinics' page.
I CAN’T FIND WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR

I RECEIVE MY FOOTWEAR FROM THE NHS, CAN I PURCHASE FROM REED DIRECTLY
Yes, ask your orthotic office for the latest order number we received from them and we can find your prescription requirements on our system. If you can’t get this don’t worry just ring and we will be able to find you on our system by asking you a few questions.
HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE TO PROCESS
This will depend on the work involved, if you fit within our accommodation chart your order will take approximately 10 days. If you require full bespoke this may be longer but this will be discussed with you at the time of ordering.
FACTORY THROUGHPUT TIMES WHEN ORDERED THROUGH AN NHS SUPPLIER
Stock - 7 working days. Stock with bespoke patterns - 10 working days. Modular - 10 working days. Modular with bespoke patterns - 15 working days. Bespoke to a fitting - 30 working days. Bespoke to complete - plus 10 working days.
MY FEET ARE DIFFERENT SIZES CAN I ORDER SPLIT SIZES AND WIDTHS
Yes, your order is made especially for you therefore will accommodate all of your personal requirements.
DO I NEED MEASURING BY A PROFESSIONAL TO PURCHASE FOOTWEAR
Yes, we will only make footwear you have been measured for professionally as our sizes and fitting do not relate to high-street sizes and as every pair is made to order a mistake is very expensive for you.
HOW DO I FIND A PROFESSIONAL IN MY AREA
We are busy recruiting clinics in your area check our page ‘Clinics’ if these are not near enough give us a call and we will do our best to help.
IS THERE A COST TO SEE AN ORTHOTIST
The consultation cost may vary and will include assessment and measuring at your first visit, your second visit is a midfit where you will try on the shoes to ensure they fit before we produce the sole and your third visit is a final fit where your shoes are complete and you can take them home.
HOW MUCH DOES THE FOOTWEAR COST
A pair of shoes made for you based on our current styles, materials and last accommodation chart will start at circa £175.00 dependant on style and a pair of boots will start at circa £275.00 dependant on style.
CAN I ORDER LARGER OR SMALLER SIZES THAN ARE SHOWN ON YOUR PRODUCT PAGES
We will try wherever possible to manufacture different sizes, however some styles become impractical to manufacture in smaller sizes, and some styles become un-attractive in larger sizes. These specially made products are non-returnable so when in doubt contact us first.
